Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 13, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what data MapToPrint (maptoprint.com) collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you may have. We are committed to handling your data responsibly.
The data controller for personal data processed through MapToPrint is Matyáš Juřena (MapToPrint). Contact [email protected]. Seller identification details are in our Terms & Conditions.
2. Data We Collect
Orders, artwork, and delivery
When you order a printed poster, we use your name, email address, delivery address, optional phone number, selected product options, pricing/tax details, and print artwork to produce, deliver, track, invoice, and support your order.
Payment (Stripe)
When you purchase a poster, your payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects payment details directly. MapToPrint does not store or have access to your full card number. We may receive payment status, receipt details, customer name, email, amount, currency, and payment identifiers needed for order fulfillment, fraud prevention, accounting, refunds, and support.
Accounts, support, and saved designs
If you create an account, save designs, contact support, or use order-status tools, we process the information needed to provide those features, respond to you, and keep order records accurate.
Marketing email (optional)
If you tick the marketing checkbox at checkout, we store your consent and may add your email address to our email audience. We use this only to send MapToPrint updates, product news, and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us.
We may also show a landing-page popup that lets you request a 10% off promo code by email. Submitting that form sends your promo code and adds your email address to our marketing audience for product updates and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us.
Analytics and advertising measurement (PostHog, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads)
We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how visitors move through the site and where checkout or editor flows fail. We also use Google Tag Manager to control measurement tags and Google Ads conversion measurement to understand campaign effectiveness. We only use non-essential analytics or advertising measurement cookies after you choose Accept in the cookie banner, where consent is required. If you choose Decline, browser analytics and ad-measurement tags remain disabled.
Measurement data may include:
- Page views and interactions (clicks, feature usage).
- Device type, browser, and operating system.
- Approximate geolocation (country/region level, derived from IP).
- Referrer URL and UTM campaign parameters.
Measurement events do not intentionally include your raw payment card details. Some purchase measurement events may include pseudonymous identifiers such as an order ID, payment intent ID, Google click identifier, or PostHog distinct ID so we can confirm that checkout works, measure ad performance, and debug failed funnels. These identifiers can be linked to order records in our backend systems and are handled as personal data where applicable.
When consent is granted, Google Ads Enhanced Conversions may use SHA256-hashed first-party identifiers (for example, email entered at checkout) to improve conversion attribution accuracy.
3. Cookies & Tracking
MapToPrint uses essential browser storage for cart contents, editor drafts, checkout state, price data, and security/session behavior. We use maptoprint_analytics_consent to remember whether you accepted or declined analytics and advertising measurement cookies. Non-essential analytics/ad storage is used only after consent. Essential storage is required for the site to function.
- Essential storage - cart, editor draft, checkout state, locale/currency, account/session, security, and pricing behavior.
- Stripe cookies - used during checkout to enable secure payment.
- PostHog analytics storage - used only after consent to understand usage patterns and funnel performance.
- Google measurement storage - Google Tag / Google Ads conversion storage (including Consent Mode signals) used only after consent where required.
You can withdraw consent by choosing Decline in our consent controls (or by clearing site storage and choosing again on your next visit).
4. How We Use Your Data
- To provide the MapToPrint editor, basket, checkout, account, order-status, and support features.
- To process payments, produce printed posters, arrange delivery, create invoices, and handle refunds.
- To respond to support requests and feedback.
- To send transactional emails about your order.
- To send marketing emails only if you opted in.
- To understand usage patterns and improve checkout/editor flows after analytics consent.
- To measure Google Ads campaign performance and conversion quality after consent where required.
- To prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and comply with accounting, tax, and legal obligations.
5. Data Sharing
We share personal data only where needed to run MapToPrint:
- Stripe - payment processing.
- Print and shipping partners - production, packaging, shipment, tracking, and support for your printed poster order.
- Database, auth, storage, and hosting providers - account, order, artwork, and site operation.
- Email provider - transactional email and optional marketing audience management.
- PostHog - product analytics after consent and server-side purchase measurement.
- Google Tag Manager / Google Ads - consent-gated ad attribution and conversion measurement.
When you order a printed poster, delivery details are shared with fulfillment and shipping partners only as needed to print, package, ship, track, and support the order. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
6. Data Retention
- Order and invoice records - retained as needed for fulfillment, accounting, tax, support, refund handling, and legal compliance.
- Payment data - retained by Stripe per their data retention policies.
- Analytics data - retained per PostHog configuration and used to improve the product.
- Marketing email data - retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, unless we need to keep a suppression record.
- Support emails - retained as needed to resolve issues and keep a record of customer service.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected].
8. Legal Basis, GDPR & CCPA
Where analytics or advertising measurement cookies (including Google Ads conversion measurement and Enhanced Conversions) are used, our legal basis is your consent where required. For essential processing needed to provide the service, process payment, create invoices, fulfill orders, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests, our legal basis is performance of a contract, legal obligation, and/or legitimate interests as applicable.
Browser analytics is consent-gated. Server-side purchase measurement may still run after payment so we can confirm completed orders, reconcile funnels, detect checkout failures, and improve the service. Server-side purchase events must not include raw card details, full address, or unnecessary customer PII.
EU/UK residents: you may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California residents: we do not sell your personal information. You may have the right to know what data we collect, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of any future sale or sharing if that ever applies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of MapToPrint after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
10. Contact
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, please contact us at [email protected].
